A speaker came into my New Media Development class about the research that goes on while finding the target audience to create personas. The main speaker was from Key Media Solutions and brought two other people to explain some resources to use when narrowing down that target audience.
I found out that there are websites that have reports of trends and that there’s face/name generators to help create personas. I never knew there was this kind of information out there or even thought it was accessible to me at least.
Another fun tid-bit I grasped the idea of was to think outta the box when working on creating the target audience made for whatever it may be. One of the extra people who came was trying to collect data that related to USD and lunch. So, she put a QR code on every lunch table in the USD cafeteria I think to let people scan it and collect the data that way. Like how smart is it too think about the people being curious to see why there’s a QR code to scan on every single lunch table. She drove their curiosity and collected over 300 samples worth of data. Amazing.
