The line may be used for separation or adding close proximity to similar items by crossing over the other. There is also a difference for the thickness size of the line, it could create a plane surface when there is a heavier stroke applied. If we compared to a thin stroked line, it would appear to have no mass unlike the heavier stroked line. There are many identities one could create with line(s).
