Today, we were assigned with writing an “artist statement” to be put in the magazine we have been working on. I started to think about all of my accomplishments and life events. I am excited to see what I come up with. We also need to have at least 300 characters, nothing less and not too much more.
Rick stated how previous graduates wrote “second year design student,” and I felt like it was a challenge. So, I physically wrote out my hobbies, accomplishments, and experiences I have been through. I was looking at examples online (keep in mind they are book authors) and they put in their biggest achievements and awards. As a student straight out of high school, I feel as if I am at a loss for accomplishments. Therefore, I focused on my hobbies and I added some quirky twists with it. It is best to have something to make it stick to a potential employer. There has to be something that a person will remember you by quickly and that will also allow you to stand out.
